The study area encompasses a portion of the communities of Dixmoor, Harvey, Markham, Midlothian and Posen near the I-294/I-57 interchange. The focus of this study will be to identify key land use opportunities at interchanges and along major arterial corridors that will spur economic development both regionally and locally. The lead organizations for this project are the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and South Suburban Mayors & Managers Association (SSMMA), partnered with the communities of Dixmoor, Harvey, Markham, Midlothian and Posen.
The consultant team working on this project is headed by Teska Associates, Inc. The other consultants on the team are Barron Chisolm Planning for community engagement, Business Districts, Inc. for market and economic development planning, and Gewalt Hamilton Associates for transportation impact analysis.
